Fundy Soccer Association (“FSA”, “we”, or “our”) is a non-profit youth and adult soccer organization based in Rothesay, New Brunswick, Canada. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website (fundysoccernb.com) and through our registration, coaching, and communication processes.
We follow the principles of Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and the Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
Personal Information We Collect
- Registration data handled by our third-party registration portal (PowerUp Sports): player name, date of birth, parent/guardian contact details, medical notes provided voluntarily, and payment information processed by the portal.
- Communications: email addresses submitted to our mailing list or sent to info@fundysoccernb.com.
- Website analytics: aggregated and anonymized visitor data (page views, device type, region) used to improve the site.
- Photographs and rosters: team photos, match photos, names, jersey numbers, and pathway destinations for current and alumni players.
Information About Minors
FSA serves players from U6 upwards, the majority of whom are under the age of majority. We treat information about minors with extra care:
- Registration of any player under 18 requires consent from a parent or legal guardian, captured at registration time.
- We will not publish a minor athlete’s full name, photograph, jersey number, or pathway commitment online without parent/guardian consent.
- Parents and guardians can withdraw consent at any time by emailing info@fundysoccernb.com. We will remove the identifying content from the public website promptly.
- We never sell, trade, or share player information with third parties for marketing purposes.
How We Use Information
- To register players, organize teams, and operate league play.
- To communicate season schedules, field-status updates, weather closures, and club announcements.
- To celebrate player achievements (university commitments, provincial call-ups) with appropriate consent.
- To meet our obligations to Soccer New Brunswick and Canada Soccer for affiliation and insurance.
How We Share Information
We share personal information only with: our registration portal provider (PowerUp Sports); Soccer New Brunswick and Canada Soccer as required for league affiliation and insurance; and our email service provider for newsletters (opt-in only). Each of these handles information under their own privacy obligations.
Cookies and Analytics
This website uses minimal cookies. We do not embed third-party advertising trackers. Any analytics we use are configured to anonymize visitor IP addresses where possible.
Your Rights
Under PIPEDA, you (or a parent/guardian on behalf of a minor) have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you or your child.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Withdraw consent for the publication of photographs, names, or other identifying details.
- File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).
Data Retention
Registration data is retained for as long as a player is active with FSA, plus any retention period required by Soccer New Brunswick and Canada Soccer policies. Alumni and pathway photo content is retained until consent is withdrawn or the alumnus requests removal.
