General & Schedules
When does the outdoor season start and end?
Our summer outdoor season typically runs from late May until late August or early September. Competitive and AAA teams competing in provincial playdowns may extend their matches into late August depending on the Soccer New Brunswick playoff schedule.
Where are practices and games held?
Our primary outdoor facility is the Arthur Miller Fields on Hampton Road in Rothesay. During the fall and winter, our indoor turf training takes place at the Saint John Field House on Exhibition Drive, where FSA is a major donor and community partner.
How does the weather policy work? Are sessions cancelled for rain?
We play in light rain! However, sessions will be cancelled in the event of heavy downpours leading to standing water on the pitches, lightning, or extreme heat advisories. We coordinate with municipal field managers and post field closures on our website alert banner and social channels by 4:00 PM on weekdays.
Programs & Player Development
What is the difference between Recreational and Competitive programs?
Our Recreational (House League) program is community-focused, emphasizing fun, physical activity, and social play with a lower commitment (usually 1-2 sessions per week). Our Competitive (AA/AAA) programs are designed for dedicated players looking for advanced technical training under licensed coaches, requiring 3-4 sessions per week and regional travel across New Brunswick.
At what age can my child start playing with Fundy Soccer?
We offer programs starting as young as Under-3 (U3) with our Active Start program, which focuses on fundamental motor skills and parent-child play. We run youth cohorts for every age bracket up through U18, as well as senior/premier teams for adult players.
What is the Nxt Gen Academy?
The Nxt Gen Academy is our supplementary development program designed to bridge the gap between recreational play and elite competitive soccer. It offers high-tempo, technical training focusing on individual ball mastery, decision making, and tactical awareness.
Equipment & Gear
What equipment does my child need to bring?
All players are required to wear shin guards (mandatory for all practices and games) and soccer cleats. FSA provides official club jerseys and shorts for regular program registrants. We also strongly recommend bringing a labeled water bottle and a soccer ball of the appropriate size to every session.
What size soccer ball does my child need?
Ball size depends on the age division:
• Size 3: U4 to U8
• Size 4: U9 to U12
• Size 5: U13 and older (including adults)
Are soccer cleats mandatory for indoor turf programs?
For indoor training at the Saint John Field House, players can wear either molded outdoor cleats, indoor turf shoes, or clean running shoes. Flat-soled indoor shoes are highly recommended to prevent traction fatigue on turf.
Registration & Financial Aid
Do you offer financial assistance or registration grants?
Yes, we believe every child should have the opportunity to play. We partner with national and local funding programs such as KidSport New Brunswick, Canadian Tire Jumpstart, and the PRO Kids network. Please visit our Financial Aid portal or contact our registrar directly to request assistance.
What is your refund policy?
Refund requests submitted prior to the official season start date will be processed minus a $25 administrative fee. Once the season has started, refunds are only issued under special circumstances, such as a season-ending injury (supported by a medical note) or a relocation out of the region, on a pro-rated basis.
